Our lab develops chemical sensors for seawater and other natural water applications. We focus primarily on autonomous instrumentation - devices that run on internal power and computer control for extended periods without a human operator. Our research interests are centered on the marine inorganic carbon cycle and the related biogeochemical processes controlling it. We are currently developing instruments to measure pH, total alkalinity, and dissolved inorganic carbon in the ocean.
